Plans have been submitted to build five new townhouses in Shoreham. The application, lodged with Adur and Worthing Councils on January 13, outlines a proposal to transform a redundant commercial yard behind Kingston Broadway into modern residential properties. The development involves the replacement of existing garages and workshops with three-storey townhouses.

Each of these homes would include three bedrooms, private parking, and rooftop terraces. The site has previously been granted permission for the demolition of existing buildings and the creation of five work units in November 2022.

The applicant claims that the site is situated in a "highly sustainable location", with nearby schools, shops, and public transport. The site lies behind eBike Sussex on Kingston Broadway, and borders with the large Next store. The houses would be constructed behind eBike Sussex (Image: Google) The design of the townhouses is intended to minimise impacts on neighbouring properties through "sensitive massing and positioning of balconies".

Open-plan kitchen and living areas are located on the top floor to maximise light and views, while bedrooms and bathrooms occupy the lower floors. Each townhouse would have a private garage with an EV charging point, and rooftop terraces.

The development also includes a total of "10.5 parking spaces", including secure garages and additional visitor spaces..
