Hull City Council has received a planning application for the erection of 166 new houses on the land North of Bellfield Avenue in Ings. The application is for three sections, (sections 3a, 3c, and 4a) of the wider Ings development project, parts of which have already been completed. The site is divided in half vertically by Middlesex Road, which the proposed houses are planned to be structured around.
The land in question is currently empty grassland following the demolition of the former Ings Estate. According to documents submitted to the council, the houses that were previously on the land "had exceeded their serviceable life-span" and were therefore demolished. The 166 homes would come in a variety of house types, including 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms.
The houses would also come in both semi-detached and detached options. 17 (around 10%) of the 166 homes would be affordable housing units. The application has already received outline permission from the council meaning this application is seeking approval of the finer details of the proposals.
The plans do not include the existing Day Centre on Bellfield Avenue, however the land the Day Centre is on is seen as a viable option for expanding the Ings development project in the future and is labelled on documents as "potential future phase." The application will now be reviewed by Hull City Council before a decision is made. Keep up to date with all the latest breaking news and top stories from Hull with our free newsletter.
