As previously reported, the building, which is now home to the kitesurfing school, has applied for planning consent to make changes to part of the building to create a bar and sitting out area – to be run in conjunction with the sailing activities. Now in an application to Dorset Council the business is asking for a Premises Licence which would allow it to sell alcohol, trading as Ocean Breeze Bar. The application, which is open for public comment until April 10th, has been made in the name of Craig Smith.

In the paperwork submitted to the council he says: “ The building is currently being renovated from a kitesurfing school and shop into part of it being a bar. “An island bar will be the main feature in the middle of the room with seating booths..

. we plan to be a family friendly bar capturing the local watersports enthusiasts as well as general sports fans.” The application proposes alcohol sales being available for each day of the week and weekend from 11am until 11pm.
