. JAIPUR: Security agencies and police are on high alert after an airplane-shaped balloon marked "Pakistan International Airlines" and the Pakistani flag printed on it landed just a few kilometres inside the Indian territory, at Khajuwala area of Bikaner in Rajasthan Saturday. This is the third such incident in the past 35 days.
Villagers, who first spotted the balloon, about 2ft in length, reported it to police and BSF. As per their preliminary probe the toy-like balloon did not carry any device or equipment typically associated with espionage. However, it is not being taken lightly given the history of narcotics smuggling across the border.
"...
The incident raises suspicion if the balloons were part of testing or diversion tactics used by smugglers," a police officer said..
