KUCHING: Discussions between PKR’s central leadership and its Sarawak chapter have primarily focused on efforts to strengthen the MADANI government, said Wanita PKR Chief, Fadhlina Sidek. She said that at the moment, the party has yet to make any decision regarding its participation in the upcoming 13th Sarawak State Election. “I believe there is still ample room for discussions on the (Sarawak) state election.

“That is why I emphasise that our current priority is to reinforce the unity government. “Any decision must be based on meetings involving all stakeholders,” she said. The Education Minister told this to reporters at an iftar event with Sarawak PKR leaders here last night.

On February 24, media reports stated that Sarawak PKR had announced its intention to contest in the upcoming state election. Meanwhile, Fadhlina confirmed that Sarawak PKR has expressed its support for her to remain as the women’s wing chief in the party elections this May. The elections for PKR’s central leadership council, women’s leadership council, and youth leadership council will be held on May 24.
