VALLEY FORGE, PA — Paul McGlynn, the Vice President of Planning at PJM , is retiring on March 31, 2025, marking the end of a notable career in the energy industry that spans nearly four decades. McGlynn has been with PJM since 2007, contributing significantly to both the Planning and Operations sectors. Reflecting on his tenure, McGlynn stated, “It has been my privilege to have worked in this industry.
I am proud to have been part of such an outstanding team doing extremely important work for the energy industry, and I know PJM will continue to forge ahead with efficiency, innovation and technologically sound solutions to fulfill our critical mission of reliability.” Aftab Khan, Executive Vice President for Operations, Planning & Security, praised McGlynn’s dedication, saying, “We are grateful for Paul’s many contributions to the Planning and Operations organizations and employees of PJM over the past 17 years. We will always be grateful for his dedication to PJM and our members.
” To ensure a smooth transition, Jason Connell has been appointed as the new Vice President of Planning, effective January 1, 2025. Connell has been with PJM for over 12 years, holding various positions in System Planning. Before joining PJM, he had a successful stint at PECO in transmission and substation engineering.
Connell holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University and an MBA from Villanova University. Connell expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “This is an incredibly dynamic time to be planning for the evolution of this industry. I am excited to support and continue PJM’s important work to design and manage the grid of the future while preserving reliability.
” Khan welcomed Connell to the executive team, noting, “We are excited to welcome Jason to PJM’s Executive Team. Jason brings strong planning experience and leadership capabilities to ensure a smooth transition and to manage the evolving needs of the PJM grid.” This leadership change marks a significant moment for PJM as it continues to adapt and innovate in the rapidly evolving energy sector.
