The Generals had taken donation pledges for each goal they scored and the funds raised were going to the Jake Hescock Win the Day Foundation, started in honor of Carey Hescock's son Jake. West said the team's goal was to raise $2,000, but when the final numbers were tallied last week, the event had raised $3,060.
The Generals were able to present Carey with the check last week. Team captain Madison Stetz spoke at the ceremony, "Good morning Carey. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to come meet with us and thank you for providing us with the opportunity that you have; to be a part of something so beautiful and important," the junior said.
"You impacted our lives in such a positive way and I know I can speak for everyone when I say we will never forget you, your cause, or Jake. We love you and the Win the Day Foundation and you will ALWAYS and forever have a home under the dome here at Pittsfield high, especially with your lady generals!".
