Excelsior Correspondent RAJOURI, Oct 17: The valedictory program of three-day “Display Your Talent” event was held at Government PG College, Rajouri, here today amidst celebration of local culture, language, and youth talent. The event, was envisioned by Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, aimed to encourage wider student participation from remote areas in cultural and literary activities. It also sought to provide a platform for the youth to represent and celebrate the art, culture, and heritage of their respective regions.

The event concluded with a valedictory program today, which was presided over by Dr K K Sharma, Principal of the College. Several esteemed guests including Sunny Manjoor, an internationally renowned choreographer and Yogeswar Singh, a national-level choreographer attend the programme. The day began with the formal welcome note presented by Prof M Iqbal Raina, followed by group dance, group dance folk and quiz competition.



In group dance the four colleges viz. GDC Nowshera, HEM College Rajouri and GDC Poonch participated. While in quiz the six colleges across the region participated in which GDC Rajouri got first prize and GDC Mendhar and GDC Thannamandi got 2nd and third position, respectively.

Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas, Deputy chief Proctor, Jammu University, presented his observation note. Prof Sarika Manhas from University of Jammu also shed light on the purpose and objective of organizing such cultural and literary event. In his presidential address, Dr K K Sharma appreciated the colleges of the Pir Panjal region for their enthusiasm and spirit.

Prof Khaleeq Ahmed, NSS Programme Officer and Staff Secretary of the College conducted the proceedings of the event while Prof Murtaza Ahmed, Head of the Department of Political Science, conducted the felicitation ceremony. At the conclusion of the event, trophies, certificate and Medals were distributed among the position holders, participants, NSS volunteers and organizing committee members for their outstanding and valuable contribution. The programme concluded with vote of thanks presented by Dr Zakir Hussain Kalis HoD English.
