Thousands of visitors celebrated historic motorsport at the Goodwood Revival this weekend. Despite a soggy start on Friday, people still got dressed up in their vintage clothing to mark the event in style. The Goodwood Revival, at the Goodwood Motor Circuit near Chichester, is an annual event and the only historic motor race meeting to be staged entirely in a period theme.

As well as all the vintage clothing fun, including a best dressed competition, there were motor races throughout the weekend. Hundreds of rare and priceless cars were driven by champions past and present competing for trophies.

This year's revival marked the first time that a historic motorsport event included cars that use sustainable fuels in all races. Model David Gandy gave a talk with presenter Scott Wimsett in which the pair discussed their love of vintage fashion. Dita Von Teese, an American cabaret performer, was also spotted at the event with Chandler Tregaskes, style editor of Tatler. The event attracts visitors of all ages including little Robert Burnside, five, who cleaned his car himself as he prepared to race in the Settrington Cup on Saturday.

Others had their portraits painted by artists in a vintage style. A spokesman for the event said: “Goodwood Revival is an immersive celebration of iconic cars and fashion.
A celebration of craftsmanship and sustainability, from an age when possessions were made to last and be cherished, the revival promotes a thoroughly modern ethos. “Revive and Thrive is the modern community that drives revival forward, inspiring us all with creative ways to rethink, repair and re-wear.”.
