Phoenix Café, a Ukranian coffee shop in Cirencester’s The Woolmarket, was filled with customers amid its formal launch. A balloon arch adorned the café’s entrance, reflecting the excitement of the opening. The cafe sells drinks and a range of baked goods, from cake pops to chocolate and honey cake.
There are also a selection of lunch options, including borscht - a sour soup common in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia – and crepes. Phoenix Café is run by a Ukrainian family - Olena, Andrii, Alina and her Polish partner Kris, grandparents Zina and Anatoli and young Ihor and Elina. It is believed to be the first Ukrainian cafe in Gloucestershire.
