Virgil Stoskopf received the Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 at the Circle Drive Hy-Vee in Rochester. Out of more than 75,000 Hy-Vee employees, only 13 recipients were selected this year to receive the award.
The award, which is the highest honor a Hy-Vee employee can receive, is meant to recognize those who go above and beyond in helping customers each day. Stoskopf usually works Wednesdays, but had by chance taken the day off, so his wife, Tresa Stoskopf, had to trick him to come into the store to run a quick errand. Virgil had no idea it was coming.
ADVERTISEMENT "It's a great honor to be appreciated like this," he said. Then, "I can't believe you guys got me." Hy-Vee District Store Director Chad Hartogh took a moment to thank Virgil for his service to Hy-Vee.
"What you do here for our store every single day is awesome," Hartogh said. "We're just privileged to work with you and it's an honor to be part of this celebration for you.".
