This month we asked our camera club members to embrace the spooky side of Sussex as the long nights drew in. Plenty of opportunities presented themselves in October, including a gothic supermoon and, of course, Halloween. Our keen snappers got in touch with their dark side and captured an array of pictures sure to send shivers down your spine.

A 'witch's familiar' in Ditchling (Image: Karen Casswell) Karen Casswell spotted a "witch’s familiar" in Ditchling - a poised black cat with piercing green eyes. Meanwhile, Philip Carter took a trip down to a cemetery in Shoreham during a full moon and got a sinister shot of the moonlight illuminating the headstones. We also loved Claire Andrew’s picture of a dewy spider’s web in Knepp.

The person appears to be using a metal detector against the ghostly backdrop of the ruined West Pier and the dark water on Brighton seafront. Llewelyn wins £50.

November’s theme is “community”. Post your entry on The Argus Camera Club Facebook page, mentioning where it was taken. It is one entry per person and the deadline is midnight on November 30.

As always, the winner will receive a £50 prize. Good luck..
