Persistent Systems Ltd, on Monday, September 30, said it will acquire Arrka, a Pune-based data privacy services company. Arrka is known for its expertise in data privacy, innovative data privacy management platform, and growing capabilities in AI governance. NSE Persistent Systems has not disclosed the financial details of the transaction.
This acquisition will significantly enhance Persistent's AI-led, platform-driven services, particularly in digital governance, which involves data privacy, AI governance, and cybersecurity. With the rapid adoption of AI across industries, digital governance and responsible AI have become crucial for enterprises, Persistent Systems said in a stock exchange filing. Persistent is addressing these needs through investments in platforms such as SASVA, an in-house generative and deterministic AI platform, and through acquisitions like Starfish Associates, the filing added.
Arrka’s integration into Persistent is expected to scale the company’s AI practice, particularly in the growing domain of digital governance. Arrka’s Data Privacy Management platform helps organisations manage privacy risks and comply with multi-jurisdictional legal frameworks. By incorporating Arrka’s expertise, Persistent will expand its offerings across key areas, including AI governance and ethics, data privacy, privacy in AI product engineering, consent and rights management and AI systems auditing and compliance management.

Shares of Persistent Systems were trading 0.33% higher at ₹ 5,454.40 on the BSE around 10:40 am.
