LAS PIÑAS CITY — University of Perpetual Help outclassed Letran in thrilling five-set victory on Thursday to reclaim its spot on the top of the NCAA Season 100 Women's Volleyball Tournament standings at the Home of the Altas gym in Barangay Pamplona III here.Middle blocker Winnie Bedaña topscored with 18 points (13 attacks, 4 blocks and a service ace) to lead the Lady Altas in a 23-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-22, 15-13 victory over the Lady Knights. This is the seventh win in eight games for the team coached by Sandy Rieta while the Intramuros-based team fell to third place with a 6-2 card behind the second running College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers (7-2).Shaila Omipon contributed 17 points, all from attacks and 17 excellent receptions while ace rookie Jemalyn Menor added 14 points for Perpetual Help.Setter Fianne Ariola recorded 25 excellent sets in 152 attempts and contributed 17 digs while libero Marian Andal recorded 18 digs and 17 excellent receptions for the Lady Altas.Letran was led by Marie Nitura with 18 points, Gia Maquilang with 16 points and Sheena Sarie with 15 points.In the other women's match, the Mapua Lady Cardinals defeated defending champion Lady Blazers, 25-20, 11-25, 27-25, 25 -21. Alyanna Ong led the way for Mapúa with 14 points on 12 attacks and 2 blocks.
