Sky Germany, RTL, NTV, Auto Motor und Sport, and the major German newspaper Bild all concur, as does French broadcaster Canal Plus, that Red Bull has successfully negotiated an end to Perez's 2025 contract. Despite recent speculation that Yuki Tsunoda could emerge as Perez's replacement, sources indicate that Liam Lawson is the team's chosen successor. "The team management and the Red Bull shareholders came to this decision in a meeting after the season finale in Abu Dhabi," Auto Motor und Sport reporter Thomas Harloff wrote.

Adding to the intrigue, Max Verstappen refrained from addressing the rumours during an appearance on Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7, a show aired by Red Bull-owned Servus TV. "I can't say anything now," Verstappen said when asked about Perez's future. However, Verstappen offered some insight when reflecting on Perez's challenging 2024 season.

"Of course, you always have to beat your teammate," Verstappen remarked. "But I've always had a very good relationship with all of my teammates. "The team always wants to have two fast drivers," Verstappen added.

"It's also better for the team if both drivers get along well.".
