Kaizer Chiefs’ chances of signing Percy Tau just got better. Despite recently winning the CAF Champions League, the 30-year-old Bafana international has hit a sour patch in his career after a reported falling out with Al Ahly manager Marcel Koller. The former Premier League player has come off the bench in both of the Egyptian Giant’s opening league games and is rumoured to be on the move this January.
According to reports, South Africa is his desired destination – Kaizer Chiefs are eager to have him . Tau on the move? Former teammate Said Abdelhafiz provided some interesting news on the situation, telling Afrik-Foot ZA , “From what I know about Percy Tau, if he does not renew his contract with Al Ahly, he will return to South Africa. “It will be difficult for Zamalek to sign Percy Tau, especially in light of the financial crisis the club is suffering from, “What I understand from Percy Tau’s personality is that if Al-Ahly does not renew his contract, the player will return to South Africa.
” Orlando Pirates want Adams Kaizer Chiefs bitter rivals Orlando Pirates have reportedly put in a bid for Stellie’s midfielder Jayden Adams, offering cash and Goodman Mosele. “At the moment the way things stand, Orlando Pirates are in a much better position to sign Jayden [Adams]. They have offered Stellenbosch FC money plus Goodman Mosele for that deal to go through,” a source told Soccer Laduma .
“Yes, it’s still early stages but that is how things start. They could actually overtake Mamelodi Sundowns in that race. They are confident they can have the deal sealed in the next transfer window period which is in January.
Another Soccer Laduma source confirmed the rumours, saying, “It’s believed that Van Rooyen has been talking to Jayden (Adams) to him about life at Pirates. They are very close and that could also influence the move. But it will all depend on the talks between Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates and if Mamelodi Sundowns could go all the way and meet the price tag that Stellies had put up towards the end of the last transfer window in September.
