As snow falls and the temperatures are ice cold, many of us will be wrapping up warm in our best blanket or popping on a dressing gown. You might have got a new one for Christmas or have a trusty, old favourite you can't part ways with. The soft delights make you feel at home and are perfect during chilly periods.

But people recently have realised that they have been fastening their dressing gowns all wrong. Allison Veer left people "jaw-dropped" after showing how she ties her robe after realising the best way to do it. On TikTok , she said: "I was in my 40s when I found out how you're supposed to tie a robe.

" Typically most of us put our dressing gown rope through the loops and tie it in the front - but she insists that this is all wrong. Instead, Allison says you should loop the rope from the front of the gown instead of the back. Hold the robe belt in front of you, wrap the robe around you, and then pass the belt through the loops from the front before tying in a snug bow.

The bow will cinch the front of your gown. "I'm living by this now," Allison insisted. People were left stunned by the revelation.

"The way my jaw just dropped and stayed open for the duration of this video," said one. One other commented: "I've worn my dressing gown every day for the past eight years and not once did it occur to me to do this." "This is so much better omg," said another.

"This is a game changer," another agreed. One other wrote: "Okay but like it makes so much sense. I feel like it was so obvious and we all just missed it.

" "I've always tied mine like this," added one other. Did you know this? Comment below..
