When it comes to iconic TV shows, Gilmore Girls and New Girl are up there with some of the most treasured. While some people loved following Rory and Lorelai's mother and daughter adventures, others would be left in stitches by the wild antics of Jess and her flatmates, Nick, Schmidt and Winston in New Girl. The shows may be very different in nature, but they both bring comfort in different ways.
While Gilmore Girls may make the perfect autumnal viewing, New Girl is a great sitcom to turn to when you just need a really good giggle. But, if you loved both shows, you may be stunned to discover that one actor actually starred in both. While his appearance may have only been brief, the revelation recently stunned TV fans on Instagram .
A clip, shared but itsnewgirlquotes on the social media platform, read: "What is Schmidt doing in Gilmore Girls?" You then see a clip of actor Max Greenfield at Luke's in Gilmore Girls, as he appears in a brief scene. The TV crossover has left fans of both shows stunned, as they can't believe they missed it. It was joked the actor was "just making the rounds".
One fan said: " Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, New Girl...
he’s been in all of my favorites." Another added: "No way!! I’ve seen this episode like a dozen times and never realized that!!" A third replied: "I remember watching this for the hundredth time and finally noticing." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "I actually watched Gilmore Girls for the first time after I saw New Girl so I recognized this right away.
" If you've never noticed it before, Greenfield did actually have a brief, almost blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance on Gilmore Girls as Lucas. The character was one of Dean's friends, and he appeared in a scene at his bachelor party. The actor, now 45, has come a long way since then.
As well as being known for his iconic role of Schmidt in New Girl, he's also taken on many other parts over the years. For example, he had recurring roles in both Veronica Mars and Ugly Betty. Since 2018, Greenfield has also played Dave Johnson in the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood.
The success of New Girl often prompts people to ask if there will ever be any chance of a re-boot, but the actor slashed hopes last year when he said he thinks it may be "too soon" for the cast to return. Speaking to ComicBook last year, he said: "It hasn't been that long. I think people are rushing to do these reunions.
"And I think...
what did we wrap that show like six or seven years ago? So I think we're going to wait on it. "When Liz Meriwether, who created the show, when she has an idea or a script or a way to do it, I'm in. I think it's on her.
I don't think it's on Jake and his Spider-Man schedule. I think it's more on Liz.".
