Dartford manager Ady Pennock has a message for his Isthmian Premier title chasers.

Dartford manager Ady Pennock has urged his title-chasing squad not to change. The Darts sit two points clear of second-place Billericay and Horsham in third spot in Isthmian Premier. There’s just four games remaining - starting with a trip to Whitehawk this Saturday - and Pennock has one message for his squad.

“Just keep doing what we’re doing,” stated Pennock. “Don’t change, don’t change at all. “We’ve got four tough games, so just keep doing what they’re doing and keep believing in themselves.

“The biggest thing is for them to keep believing in themselves and keep enjoying it. “In my opinion, we’ve got the toughest run-in. But that’s what we’re here for, isn’t it? It’s lovely and I’m really enjoying it.

Samir Carruthers played through the pain barrier and Pennock knows he needs to get every last ounce out of his small squad during the run-in. “We’ve got the tiniest squad in the league, I think, but we’re in it together,” said Pennock.

“Olly just jarred his knee in training. He kicked the floor on [last] Thursday, so he’s feeling a little bit uncomfortable. “Luther can’t really sprint at the moment with a calf injury so we just need to keep an eye on that, but they’re obviously really important.

“Samir had a little knock last Thursday as well, but he did really well to get through the game.” Dartford remain top after Cray Wanderers won 2-0 at Billericay. Pennock’s tip for the title, Horsham, could yet pip them both to top spot.

“It would be lovely if everyone does us a favour,” said Pennock. “My favourites were Horsham, and they’ve been on an unbelievable run like we have. I think that’s only two losses in about 27 games for us - it’s an amazing run we’ve had.

“We know it’s going to be so difficult. The games that we’re playing are so tough but we’re just enjoying the ride. “We are punching above our weight but we’re just loving it.

You can see everyone at the club is galvanised and we’re all in it together.”.
