Coming off their first match of the season this past Monday, the Pella Christian Bowling teams are preparing for a busy stretch before Christmas Break. The Eagles have 10 matches on the schedule this season, and four of those contests will occur between December 3rd and 21st. After falling to Pella in their season openers, the Pella Christian bowling teams will host Ballard and Gilbert, while also competing as the road team against Sigourney and Knoxville, before getting two weeks off for Christmas.
While the Eagles would like to win their four matches before the holiday break, head coach Rod Blunck says he’s more concerned with his teams giving him their best effort while also working to improve their game. “I’ve always told them ‘I want you to give me the best you’ve got.’ If it’s only a hundred, then give me a hundred.
If you can do two hundred, then let’s do two hundred. And they’re all willing to work at whatever level they’re at. They love to watch strikes happen, but I keep telling them, ‘you can throw five strikes in the game and not bowl a hundred, so you really need to work on your spares and scores will improve dramatically that way.
” The Pella Christian bowling teams have their second meet of the season on Tuesday, hosting Ballard at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa at 2 pm..
