Serian police chief DSP Neil Beginda said the victim in his 60s suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

“Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred around 11.20pm on Wednesday. “The unidentified victim was found on the metal guardrail on the right side of the road heading towards Serian,” said Neil.



Police also discovered fragments of a side mirror believed to be from the vehicle that struck the victim. “The victim was wearing dark blue jeans and an orange, black, and white striped shirt. “Based on a BCG vaccination mark on his left arm, the victim is believed to be a Malaysian citizen.

“He was approximately 160cm tall, weighed less than 50kg, and had a tan complexion,” Neil said in a statement today. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
