RANDLEMAN — A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on US 311 in Randleman on Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The accident happened near Brookwoods Acres Drive about 7:43 a.m.

, the release said. Samuel Hubern Lilly, 44, of Randleman, was walking north in the southbound lane of US 311 when a vehicle going north crossed the centerline and struck him, the release said. Lilly died on the scene.



Investigators are searching for the driver of a silver/light grey 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma believed to have been involved in the crash. The vehicle should have visible damage to the front passenger side fender, the release said. sspear@rockinghamnow.
