Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will emerge stronger from its current crisis. Lawal believes that the Party’s ability to learn from its mistakes will be crucial in its resurgence. The Governor made this assertion on Sunday during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who recently lost his elder brother.
He said that the PDP is committed to regaining its footing, as evident in the recent Governors’ meeting in Delta State. According to Lawal, “In politics, there are always issues. With what happened in Delta two days ago, it shows we are making waves and are on track to reconnect with the people to lead this country.

Lawal stated, “There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the PDP. The ongoing crisis is normal; it happens in other parties too.
So, it is nothing new. It is one of those things. This will ultimately make us stronger because we need to learn from certain mistakes.
It is all part of the learning process.” He reaffirmed the party’s decision to support Sunday Ude-Okoye as its National Secretary, in accordance with the Appeal Court’s judgment in Enugu State. Lawal emphasized that the Governors are the leaders of the party and that their decisions will be implemented.
