In a surprise revelation, Patsy Palmer, famed for her role as the fiery Bianca Jackson on EastEnders, has expressed openness to the idea of exploring new soap horizons. Chatting with Jack P Shepherd while in the Celebrity Big Brother house, she mused about a potential transfer. The 52-year-old actress who has become synonymous with the streets of EastEnders hinted to the Coronation Street actor that a move to his show could be on the cards.
During a casual conversation in the kitchen, she playfully suggested she might ditch Albert Square for Weatherfield and team up with Shepherd's character, David Platt. Intrigued by the northern charm of Coronation Street, Patsy asked Jack for a lesson on adopting the local twang, specifically how to pronounce the phrase: "Let's have a bit of cake and some tea." Shepherd appeared to approve of her first attempt, even as he busied himself with his cuppa.
Patsy has been an integral part of the EastEnders cast since Bianca's memorable arrival back in 1993 and has seen her character come and go from the drama-filled streets of Walford multiple times throughout the years. Previously, Patsy reflected on the "shame" of not being able to shake off Bianca's image. "I think fans might think I'm quite feisty because of Bianca but I'm not really, I'm quite a calm person," she confided before entering the Big Brother residence, reports the Mirror .
"Even at work at EastEnders, people always say that I bring quite a nice sort of vibe." She expressed her eagerness to demonstrate the contrast between her real persona and on-screen character. "I've got my life together!" she chuckled.
"[Bianca] can't get her life together. She's in fight or flight. "I'm not in fight or flight.
I'm not really zen, but I do like to try my best to follow that way of life, which is so different from the drama in her life!" As housemates entered the diary room on Monday (April 14) to cast their votes in the latest round of evictions, it followed Mickey Rourke's dismissal from the show for poor conduct. The Tinseltown star is reportedly facing a huge cut to his earnings after his premature departure. The revelation that he had been removed from the house came during a very charged Saturday (April 12) night special, following a charged first week.
In the Diary Room, the 72-year-old The Wrestler star seemed resigned to his eviction and hinted at a mutual desire for his exit. "I went over the line, you know, I did wrong," he confessed. "I guess, like they say, I'm a work in progress.
I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn't chosen." He initially joined as the top earning celebrity, securing an impressive £500,000 salary.
However, The Sun reports he will only take home a slice of the agreed amount. Celebrity Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player at 9pm.
