Nine appearances followed last fall, finishing 15-of-20 field goals and 19-of-22 extra points. He was most recently a member of the Buffalo Bills ’ scout team.
Brown, 24, had stints at the College of the Canyons, UNLV and Oklahoma State before going undrafted to the Rams in 2023. His rookie summer, which also overlapped with the then-assistant special teams coach, ended at the 53-man roster deadline. A futures contract arrived in January for Brown, who was waived again in August and returned to Los Angeles on the practice squad in September.
He became a free agent as the calendar turned to October. Rauschenberg, 23, earned an invitation to rookie minicamp with the Kansas City Chiefs and was waived in June. The transfer to North Texas spent four years as the kickoff specialist at Baylor, turning 243 opportunities in 180 touchbacks across 43 games.
He went 16-of-19 on field goals and 46-of-46 on extra points as a senior while the Mean Green ranked atop the NCAA with 11.4 yards allowed per kick return. The practice squad remains at capacity for the Patriots.
Veteran incumbent Joey Slye has gone 19-of-22 on field goals and 15-of-16 on extra points during his first fall in Foxborough. A long of 63 yards, good for the franchise record, stands among them..
