1 2 Prayagraj : This Dussehra , the artists performing Ramlila at the Patharchatti Ramlila committee will perform various episodes from the epic using various dance forms . While Ravan Darbar and Sugreev Darbar would be presented using the Bharatnatyam and Mohiniyattam respectively, the episode of Lord Ram Vivah would be presented in Gari folk dance (Awadh style). On the first day (Oct 3), celebration of the birth of Lord Ram would also be presented in semi-classical dance form.
Interestingly, an episode of Ram Van Gaman would be presented in tribal dance form, while an episode of Rajyabhishek would be presented in Awadhi dance. 17 artists are going through one month of rigorous dance training before they share the stage to perform various episodes in different dance forms. The Ramlila of Patharchatti Ramlila committee will start on Oct 3 and conclude on Oct 13.
Noted dance director, Purnima Kumar, told TOI: "Enthusiastic and energetic artists are spending at least five hours daily to learn the right forms and how to amalgamate dance and acting into their performances. Purnima Kumar, associated with the Patharchatti Ramlila committee for the past 14 years, had also performed dance during this year's Republic Day parade (UP's tableaux based on faith and development) at Rajpath..
