AGARTALA, Apr 5 : Patanjali Foods is set to cultivate at least 10,000 hectare of palm trees with the potential of producing oil in Tripura in the next two years, aiming to enhance local production and create an integrated business ecosystem to support farmers.The Head of Patanjali Foods Northeast region, Ashok Kumar Singh, stated that the company has acquired 30 hectares of land in Tripura, which will serve as a hub for oil palm cultivation. The facility will include a processing mill, a nursery for oil palm saplings, a demo plantation, and a training center to equip farmers with practical knowledge.
“The climatic conditions in Tripura are ideal for oil palm cultivation. Within the next three months, we will start work on establishing this integrated center, which will streamline the entire cultivation process,” Singh stated.As part of its outreach, Patanjali conducted a workshop on oil palm cultivation in Tripura, where farmers from various districts under its jurisdiction participated.
