Pat McAfee claimed he turned down offers to interview Kamala Harris and Donald Trump ahead of Tuesday's presidential election. Each candidate has gone on numerous shows and podcasts to get their message across before Election Day. Those media tours have driven through the sports realm.

Harris spoke to Shannon Sharpe and appeared on All the Smoke , and Trump was a guest on Barstool Sports' Bussin' With the Boys . According to McAfee, both campaigns tried to carve out time on ESPN airwaves. On Monday, Bill Belichick confirmed that he and Jim Gray interviewed Trump on the Let's Go podcast.

The former New England Patriots head coach said they also invited Harris. McAfee replied that he rebuffed an opportunity to welcome Trump or Harris on his show. "We've had both political parties reach out about their candidates coming on," McAfee claimed.

"And I clearly said, 'We’re not the ones that should be asking these things.'" Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images Considering that he's scoffed at the concept of journalistic standards , McAfee's self-assessment is probably accurate.

While McAfee may consider his show apolitical, he's used his program to share anti-trans rhetoric in response to misinformation regarding Imane Khelif, a cisgender female Olympic boxer from Algeria. His weekly guest, Aaron Rodgers, frequently touts conspiracy theories without any pushback. Last week, Rodgers and McAfee spread falsehoods about FEMA funding when the New York Jets criticized the United States for sending aid to Ukraine during its war with Russia.

Rodgers previously said he was offered a chance to serve as the Vice President for former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is now campaigning for Trump.

Kennedy, who has spread anti-vaccine misinformation, would get a chance to influence U.S. health policies in the Trump administration.

He said he'd remove all fluoride in drinking water despite considerable evidence that the mineral helps strengthen teeth and reduce cavities. Related: Aaron Rodgers Mocks Celebrities' Political Endorsements Ahead Of Presidential Election.
