PARTS OF PLANT – Here are the most important parts of plants and the vital functions that each of the parts play. Are you one of the Science lovers out there? One of the most popular topics in Science is the Parts of the Plant. Plants are deeply studied in Science most especially in fields like the Environmental Science. Each of them has a purpose that is essential in the growth and life of a plant. Plants have three (3) organs and one of them is the “Root”. Its primary function is the taking in of water and nutrients that are essential for the growth of the plant.

It is also the part that anchors the plant to the soil and helps it too survive even amid too much or too little water and nutrients. The roots also serve as storage of the reserve foods of the plant. Also one of the parts of plant is the stem which connects all the other parts to each other.

Its main function is the transporting of water and nutrients up from the roots to the leaves. It is also the stem that transports the sugar from the leaves to the other parts. It supports the leaves, fruits, and flowers as well.

Also one of the organs of the plant is the leaf or leaves. It is responsible in turning sunlight into food. Have you seen the green pigment in leaves? These pigments absorbs the sunlight which is very important in the food-making process of the plants.

This process is called photosynthesis. While it may not be known much to many people, fruits have their own functions in a plant aside from being the edible result of the plant. Its main function is with regards to the dispersal and the protection of the seeds.

They also help prevent the seeds from getting dried. The flower is the reproductive organ of the plant. For a seed to develop, the pollen has to move from the male to the female parts of the flowers.

The colorful petals of flowers attrach the pollinators like the animals and insects which help in the reproduction process through the movement of the pollen..
