People living in parts of Norfolk and Waveney have been told to "act now" as a flood warning is issued, along side six flood alerts. The Environment Agency issued the flood warning today (Sunday) for The River Yare from Barnham Broom to the A11 at Cringleford. The agency says that minor flooding in low-lying areas across Norfolk is expected as river levels continue to rise following overnight rainfall.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages at this time.
"The forecast is for no significant rainfall over the next few days. Flood alerts across Norfolk and Waveney (Image: Environment Agency) "Take care on riverside footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger." A further six flood alerts are in place across Norfolk and Waveney, signalling that flooding is "possible".
