Parliament News : Parliament on Thursday witnessed huge chaos as two BJP MPs sustained minor injuries after being allegedly pushed by Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi. The incident unfolded when both BJP and the opposition INDIA Bloc MPs were protesting against each other amid the row over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's alleged derogatory comments against Babasaheb Ambedkar during the debate on the 75 years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution in Rajya Sabha. BJP MPs Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Sarangi sustained minor injuries and have been admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi.

RML Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla said that both the MPs have suffered head injuries and have been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. "We are trying to stabilise both (Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput) of them, evaluation is being done. Tests will be done.

Symptomatic treatment has begun. Since both of them suffered head injuries, they were admitted to the ICU. Pratap Sarangi was experiencing heavy bleeding and he had suffered a deep cut.

So, he had to be stitched up. His evaluation is in progress. Mukesh Rajput had fallen unconscious.

Right now, he is conscious but he is dizzy and anxious. His BP had shot up," Dr Shukla added. #WATCH | RML MS Dr Ajay Shukla says, "We are trying to stabilise both (Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput) of them, evaluation is being done.

I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed an MP who then fell on me," Singh said as quoted by PTI. VIDEO | "I was standing at one side. Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP who then fell on me.

"This might be on your camera. I was trying to go inside through the Parliament entrance, BJP MPs were trying to stop me, push me and threaten me.

So this happened," Gandhi said. मैं संसद के अंदर जाने की कोशिश कर रहा था। लेकिन BJP के सांसद मुझे रोकने की कोशिश कर रहे थे, धक्का दे रहे थे और धमका रहे थे। ये संसद है और अंदर जाना हमारा अधिकार है। : नेता विपक्ष श्री @RahulGandhi pic.twitter.

The central issue is that they are attacking the Constitution and insulting the memory of Ambedkar ji," the Lok Sabha LoP added. The BJP, meanwhile, is reportedly mulling to file a police complaint against Rahul Gandhi and has sought an apology from Lok Sabha LoP. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accused Rahul Gandhi of committing "physical assault" on BJP MPs and said that the show of strength by him and his MPs was "very wrong.

" "We believe in democracy. Who has given authorisation to Rahul Gandhi to use his physical power against other MPs. It doesn't mean that the other MPs are weak.

It's only because we believe in non-violence and we believe in democracy. Rahul Gandhi's physical attack against the MPs is condemnable. It is a gross misuse of his anger, his frustration and the way Rahul Gandhi has treated the Parliament, shows that Rahul Gandhi doesn't believe in democracy.

I want to tell Rahul Gandhi we will see what appropriate action we can take. But he must tender an apology to the nation that he has used his physical strength against other MPs," Rijiju further said. #WATCH | Union Minister Kiren Rijiju says, "Makar Dwar is the main entry gate of the Members of Parliament to both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

We are not using our physical strength against other MPs because that is not what we believe in. We believe in nonviolence. Rahul Gandhi must understand and tender his apology to the nation and to the MPs to whom he has caused the gravest injury.

Appropriate action will be taken. First, we will see the level of injury because there was a report that the injury was quite serious and there was some oozing of blood. The medical treatment is now undergoing.

We'll see the condition now," he added. What Are The Rules To File Police Complaint Against MPs? As per Parliament rules, if the Lok Sabha Speaker permits, the police can launch a probe against Rahul Gandhi, who will have no special rights in the said situation, even being the Leader of Opposition. The injured BJP MP, Pratap Sarangi, can claim that his privilege has been breached and sought an investigation into the matter.

However, a report by News18, stated that if no video evidence is found of the alleged assault, then the probe could end due to lack of evidence and only the statements of the victim (Pratap Sarangi) and accused (Rahul Gandhi) will be recorded. "The key here will be video evidence. In the absence of this, it could be the word of one MP vs another and difficult to prove," Former Lok Sabha General Secretary PDT Achary said, as quoted by News18.

The execution of duties includes, while a member is attending the House or when he is coming to, or going from the House. However, the privilege is not available to any member if he/se is not performing any parliamentary duty.
