The Budget Session of Parliament resumed to chaotic scenes on Monday. In the Lok Sabha, the lawmakers of the Opposition insisted the Centre to issue a statement on the Maha Kumbh stampeded, which claimed 30 lives on January 29 last month. ‘Kumbh par jawab do,’ the Opposition leaders kept chanting as they were seen rushing to the Well of the House.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla berated the MPs saying “the people have elected you to ask questions, not break tables.” Amid loud protests, Birla said, “Don’t waste taxpayers’ money.” The Opposition is demanding details of the stampede and claim that the Uttar Pradesh government is not revealing the actual death toll.
