Parking will be cheaper in some parts of the city next week as the council puts new plans into action. Brighton and Hove City Council will introduce the price changes from Monday November 11. The reductions in one-hour tariffs are part of a new parking plan for Brighton and Hove , designed to be better for residents and support local businesses.
Councillor Trevor Muten, cabinet member for transport, parking and public realm, said: “We’ve worked quickly to introduce these changes. And they’re just the start of a fresh approach to parking in the city. “We’re focusing on making parking simpler and fairer for everyone.
By reducing the one-hour and evening tariffs, we’re making it cheaper for people to pop into the city to shop or socialise, which is important for supporting our day and night-time economy. “This is just the beginning. The parking plan is addressing all areas of the service, but it will sit alongside everything we’re doing to give people real choices about how they travel around the city.
