'Palestinian flag' spotted during Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary procession in Cuttack?

A youth was seen allegedly waving a Palestinian flag during Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary procession in Cuttack. Daragha Bazar Police seized the flag, leading to a temporary halt of the event.

A youth was allegedly spotted waving a Palestinian flag during the procession taken out on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary in Cuttack on Monday. According to a report, on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary celebration in Cuttack, a procession was taken out. During the procession, a youth was allegedly waving a Palestinian flag.

On being informed, a team from Daragha Bazar Police Station reached the spot, seized the flag and admonished the youth. The incident stopped the procession for some time. Later, senior police officials reached the spot and held a discussion with the revellers after which the procession resumed.



Also Read: Huge quantities of ‘duplicate liquor’ seized from govt-licensed shop in Bhubaneswar When contacted, additional DCP Anil Mishra said the flag was suspected to be a Palestinian flag and was seized to avoid any issues. “Someone informed the police that a Palestinian flag was being waved during the procession taken out on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary. A Palestinian flag has three colours and a triangle.

The said flag had three colours without the triangle. Something was written on it. So the flag didn’t have the exact specification of a Palestinian flag,” Mishra said.
