This Diwali, Google India is promoting a unique trend: QR code-themed rangoli designs. People can send "shagun" money via a QR code embedded in the colorful rangoli. A video on Google India's Instagram shows the rangoli outside a door with the message, "Send Shagun To Enter.

" In the Instagram video, a guest in traditional attire follows the instructions, scans the QR code, and makes a Rs 500 payment via Google Pay. After sending the "shagun," he is warmly welcomed inside. The caption of this post read, “Masti Rukni Nhi Chahiye #KeepTraditionsAlive”.

Many of them were impressed by the creativity of the tech giant while others said that they want to make the same rangoli at their home this Diwali. One wrote, “Yeh batao, yeh rangoli ghar pe kaise banaun?” to which, Google joked saying, “Yeh bhi Google karlo”.

Some of the other hilarious comments include, “ghar mai ani ka hai to paisa do”, “Isko ghar par banane ka tutorial bhej do koi”, “Google kuch zada hi create hote ja rha h”, “I’m going to send this to my sister to make this exact rangoli” and so on. If you go to the Google home page and search for “Diwali 2024” you will then see a diya icon right below the search bar.

Tap on that and then, your entire screen will turn opaque black and that lit up diya will become your cursor. You can then move around the diya and see it light up the screen wherever you take it. To go back, you can simply tap on the cross placed at the top right corner and exit this mode.
