The Morobe Show Queen Pageant has been in existence for more than 23 years, and this year was the 16th year that manufacturer Lae Biscuit has sponsored the contest. The underlying message, or the theme for the Show Society and the Lae Biscuit Company, was to help participants preserve and uphold their cultural heritage. For the Show Pikinini, the children were also inspired to understand their cultural heritage.
It also promotes cultural awareness and to help them understand the environmental heritage through the category ‘sustainable wear’. The children had to be creative and innovative. Lae Biscuit showcased the Show Pikinini, having all the rounds completed with winners announced and the official presentation made yesterday in front of Deputy Prime Minister and Member for Lae, John Rosso, Provincial Member Luther Wenge and Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Beldan Namah, all the show directors and Lae Biscuit Company directors and other officials, companies and the show society itself.
