The scouse star returns at UFC 314 on April 12 where a win over Michael Chandler could propel Pimblett into the lightweight title picture with a seventh consecutive victory inside the Octagon.Long before he made his name in the UFC, the Brit came out on top in a controversial title fight that fans still claim was a robbery with the champ suffering from some stomach issues in the immediate aftermath.READ MORE: Dustin Poirier retirement fight theory floated by UFC legend following recent nickname changeTitle fight: Paddy Pimblett (@PatrickPimblett) vs.

His first title defense came just two months later behind closed doors at the BT Studio in London for Cage Warriors: Unplugged on November 12.The challenger was Julian Erosa, a 17-3 American who had previously competed on The Ultimate Fighter season 22 as a part of Urijah Faber’s team. His first stint inside the Octagon ended in March of 2016 following a knockout loss to Teruto Ishihara at UFC 196 but after back-to-back wins, he earned a big opportunity in Europe.

Pimblett and Erosa fought for five rounds where ‘Juicy J’ clearly got the better of the striking exchanges and despite the champ securing some takedowns, he wasn’t able to produce much damage as a result. All three judges scored the fight in favor of Pimblett whilst the three media cards via MMA Decisions had the challenger coming out on top. After MMA Fighting looked back at the fight in 2022, 81% of 442 total voters said that the result was a robbery and that Erosa clearly deserved the win.

Erosa would return to the Octagon in 2018 following a win on Dana White’s Contender Series and he now has 15 UFC bouts under his belt with his next outing coming on the same night that Pimblett faces Chandler, UFC 314 on April 12.READ MORE: Josh Emmett sent snot flying as he viciously KO’d rival to win battle of the UFC bogeymenOne of the worst decisions I've ever seen. https://t.

‘The Baddy’ fought one more time at featherweight where he lost his title to Nad Narimani before making the decision to move up a weight class..
