Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni took the internet by storm after she renounced the world and was designated a Mahamandaleshwar during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. She was rechristened as Shreeyamai Mamta Nand Giri. However, a few days after being bestowed by the title, she was stripped of the honour due to an internal conflict within the organisation.
Now, she has appeared on India TV’s show Aap Ki Adalat and reacted to several people raising objections to her attaining sainthood in a day. She assumed a cross-legged position with her eyes closed and began chanting a mantra.
However, many netizens have pointed out that her pronunciations are incorrect. This has led to her being relentlessly trolled by the internet users, ridiculing her for fooling the viewers. She added, “Now it is absolutely impossible for me.” For those who don’t know, the 52-year-old former actress and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi was expelled from the Kinnar Akhara by Ajay Das, the Akhara’s founder.
Opening up about the speculation that she made donations to be made Mahamandaleshwar, she denied all allegations. Mere bank accounts seize kar diye hai government ne.
Aapko malum nahi hai main kis tarah se reh rahi hoon. Mere pass paise nahi hai, kisi se udhar leke Rs 2 lakh diye, voh bhi jo guru ko dakshina deni hoti hai.” She went on to add that three of her apartments are infested with termites and in a “state of disrepair,” as they have been closed for 23 years.
