P479,000 shabu, guns seized from 6 suspects in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal

The operations yielded more than P479,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and marijuana and two illegal firearms, the Region 4A police said in a report.

The report said anti-illegal drugs operatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite arrested “Johairah,” “James,” and “Joshua” at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday after they sold shabu and marijuana to an undercover police officer in Barangay Burol Main.



Seized from the suspects were five sachets with shabu weighing 50 grams worth P340,000 and two sachets of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,800. The operatives also seized a mobile phone from the suspects that will be examined for drug transactions. In Antipolo City, Rizal, police nabbed “Bay” in a sting operation at 10:40 p.

m. on Monday in Barangay Mayamot. The suspect was caught in alleged possession of four sachets of meth weighing 15 grams worth P102,000.

Meanwhile, police arrested “Roberto,” a suspected gun runner in a buy-bust operation Monday in Calauan town, Laguna. The report said the suspect was nabbed around 4:35 p.m.

after he sold a caliber .45 pistol loaded with 16 bullets for P10,000 to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Dayap. During the routine frisking, the suspect was also found carrying two sachets of meth worth P36,108.

Law enforcers in Calamba City, Laguna also busted “Rowel” after selling a caliber .38 revolver with two bullets for P3,000 to an undercover cop in Barangay Kay-Anlog around 5:10 p.m.

The suspect was also found with a rifle grenade in his possession. The police said the two firearms lacked government-issued documents or licenses and permits for the holders. The police are investigating further to identify the source of the guns.

The authorities would subject the confiscated firearms to ballistic and cross-matching examinations to determine if they were used in past crime incidents.
