Men’s wear fashion brand P N RAO plans to open two stores in CY2025. Company’s expansion plans to tier 1 and tier 2 cities. Currently, the men’s retail wear company has eight stores across Bengaluru , Chennai, and Hyderabad.
Highlighting the importance of Chennai , and the Bengaluru market, Ketan Pishe, Partner at P N RAO, told businessline , “Bengaluru and Chennai contribute a major chunk to our revenues. Hyderabad, being a relatively new market for us, holds immense potential.” The company is exploring opportunities in cities such as Pune , Coimbatore, Vijayawada , and Visakhapatnam .
In Karnataka , the company sees potential in Mangaluru, Hubballi, and Belagavi as key growth markets, he mentioned. Expanding market Explaining the market size, Pishe stated, “Indian wedding attire market alone drives a $130 billion industry, with an average spend per nuptial at ₹12.5 lakhs.
The men’s apparel market was valued at $31.10 billion in 2014.” The company is planning to gradually expand its focus in this market going forward, he noted.
Traditionally, a retail store brand, PN RAO has expanded its digital presence with the Neumen range of suits. The brand has seen traction on marketplace platforms and the company’s online store, Pishe shared. Explaining the online contribution, he added, “While ready-to-wear suits perform well online, customer preference for physical interaction with products remains higher for suits compared to shirts or trousers.
” The company is also focusing on enabling tailoring services online. Currently, online sales contribute modestly to overall revenue, but the company aims to increase this to 5 percent in the near future. P N RAO also recently re-entered the women’s business wear segment, further diversifying its portfolio.
