The Villans are set to take on PSG tonight (Wednesday, April 9) in the quarter-finals of UEFA's premier European competition. This will be the first of two legs with the English side playing in the French capital this evening and then hosting their opponents in Birmingham next week. Aston Villa have never won the Champions League but have won its former iteration, the European Cup, in 1982.
Peter White's solitary goal was enough to see the Villans triumph over Bayern Munich at De Kuip in Rotterdam. The Midlands club's fans will be hoping for a repeat of their success in the 1980s with what would be a famous win in Paris. Supporters from all over the country are making the trip abroad, with one group from Banbury on their travels across the channel.
Fans gathered at The Musketeer on Ruscote Avenue in Banbury and held a large flag with the club's colours ahead of their venture. A statement from the pub said: "Have a safe trip to Paris and good luck." The crunch match is set to kick off at 8pm this evening at the Parc des Princes in Paris and will be televised on TNT Sports.
Aston Villa's return leg at Villa Park will be played on Tuesday, April 15..
