The Sarah Moore pub in Elm Road briefly shut in January before its landlords took over management from brewery chain Marston and reopened. Now, the Sarah Moore’s landlords Will Farrell and Charley Costello have partnered with catering firm KB Kitchens to offer an innovative menu that promises to “incorporate a twist on classic dishes”. “KB Kitchens will be a huge asset to our business, and it will be good to work with people who really know what they’re doing in this industry,” Will said.
“We’re going to do a few different menus along with a good roast dinner on a Sunday and fish and chips on a Friday. “OAPs will also be able to enjoy a discounted weekday menu.” after parting ways with the pub’s previous brewery and have placed a focus on working with south Essex based businesses and suppliers.
The pub’s kitchen will launch on Saturday, May 3 under the supervision of KB Kitchens, which KB Kitchens’ chef Wesley Robertson says the menu being created for the Sarah Moore will offer a selection of creative takes on familiar favourites. “We’re going to be using local suppliers such as fishmongers down in Old Leigh and will be incorporating some twists on the classic dishes,” he said. “One of the dishes will be fish and chips using prosecco-infused batter and we’ll also be looking at putting on things such as fish tacos.
“We have been in the pub setting things up for the last week or so – we start our prep work on the dishes next week.” If Wesley’s efforts at The Cricketers is anything to go by, the Sarah Moore is in good hands – just before Christmas, KB Kitchens stepped in to deliver Christmas dinner to dozens of diners at the pub after the previous kitchen team pulled out at the last minute..
