PATHANAMTHITTA: With the onset of the pilgrimage season, the holy hills of Sabarimala is drawing lakhs of devotees with numbers swelling daily. Thousands are waiting in queues on the pavements and outside. 52,000 people have booked darshan through the virtual queue.
The Thulamasa Pooja will continue till 21 of this month. It was just the last day that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ensured that the government would arrange a smooth passage for Sabarimala pilgrims, who are unaware of the online booking system. The Chief Minister was responding to V Joy's submission in the Assembly.
The Travancore Devaswom Board under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister and the presence of the Devaswom Department Minister held discussions with police and others concerned to ensure easy access for pilgrims and avoid the horrendous ordeal experienced by devotees during the last season. Travancore Devaswom Board, Police, Forest, Health, Public Works, Fire & Rescue, Legal Metrology, Disaster Management, Food and Public Distribution, Irrigation, KSEB, KSRTC, BSNL, and Water Authority have joined forces to provide all necessary assistance to pilgrims from Pamba to Sannidhanam..
