The Old Village community is coming together to support Make-A-Wish South Carolina with a unique and exciting fundraiser running from Nov. 17-21. This event aims to raise awareness and support for the 400 children across the state who are waiting for their wishes to be granted —24 of whom are in the Lowcountry.

Many of these children are patients from MUSC, with the first wish in South Carolina being granted at The Citadel, further highlighting the community's deep connection to this impactful organization. We will be “flocking” homes throughout the neighborhood with dozens of pink flamingos, creating a fun, engaging way to draw attention to the cause. We encourage all residents, especially families and children, to participate and learn how they can give back.

Not only does this initiative support an important cause, but it also teaches our kids the value of community service and helping others in need. Make-A-Wish South Carolina grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses, bringing them hope and strength during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Importantly, the only way these wishes are granted is through donations from South Carolina residents and businesses.

Public involvement and support are essential to making these dreams come true. Join the OV Flock in this fun and meaningful event, and help bring joy to the lives of children in the community. Let’s make a difference, one wish at a time! "Together, we can inspire hope for these kids!" says Old Village resident Mercedes Stone.
