An “outstanding” primary school has become the latest to join a key partnership to shre its success with others. This comes after Lostock Primary School, on Glengarth Drive, officially joined the Leverhulme Academy Trust as of March 1. Together leaders at the school and trust hope to build on its recent success by sharing expertise and resources.
Lostock Primary School director of primary education, executive headteacher Vicki Guest said: "Becoming part of the Leverhulme Trust is an exciting step for our school. “This partnership will allow us to work closely with other schools in the Trust, share expertise, and enhance learning experiences and outcomes for our school community.” Lostock Primary School is rated as outstanding (Image: Leverhulme Academy Trust) The Leverhulme Trust already includes Rivington and Blackrod Sixth Form, Rivington and Blackrod High School and Harper Green High School.
Trust leaders say that Lostock Primary School’s membership means it will gain access to extensive resources and professional development opportunities that will enrich the experience for all pupils. The move comes at an exciting time for the Glengarth Drive primary school which was rated as being outstanding across all five criteria by inspectors after a visit last May. The inspector found children at the school to be "are kind, successful and happy" and "shine in the many different roles and responsibilities that the school encourages them to hold".
Earlier that year Lostock Primary School received a letter of congratulations from the minister for schools after it appeared in the top 200 schools in the country for multiplication tables.
