Outlander star Sam Heughan , famed for portraying the beloved character Jamie Fraser on the Starz series, has issued a dire warning to his followers as anticipation builds for the show's upcoming episodes. The actor, whose portrayal alongside Caitriona Balfe as Claire Fraser has captivated audiences for years, shared a concerning update with fans following an emotional farewell to the series. They recently completed filming on what will be their final season together, set to air in 2025.

Yet, in the midst of excitement for the continuation of season 7, which is slated to premiere on November 22, Heughan felt compelled to take to Instagram and speak out about the rise of online threats and scams targeting his fan base. In a series of Instagram Stories earlier this week, the Scotsman, who boasts 4.3 million followers, emphatically cautioned: "Please be careful on social media.

So many scammers." He continued with a clear message intended to safeguard his supporters, writing: "I will never reach out or message on Instagram /Twitter/WhatsApp/Google hangout/etc Or ask for money." Making sure to clarify, he added: "If it's not verified it's not me.

" He then stressed that neither his agent, family, publicist, nor any other representative would contact fans through these mediums. The announcement was punctuated today with another urgent post from Heughan addressing online charlatans, specifically calling out one sham account under the moniker 'Sabrina'. This imposter had audaciously approached fans with a message purporting to represent Heughan, writing: "Hello, It is an honor to reach out to you on behalf of Sir Sam Heughan, who has personally recognized your exceptional dedication and enthusiasm as a fan.

"As a gesture of his sincere appreciation for your unwavering support, he is extending to you a rare and meaningful opportunity to engage in a personal dialogue with him." The message urged the recipient to take action "as soon as possible", a common technique used in scams. It concluded: "Thank you for your longstanding support, which means so much to both Sir Sam Heughan and the entire team.

" (sic) Discrediting the fraudulent message, the actor posted a screenshot labelled "FAKE" with a bold red cross over it, and sharply critiqued: "And not very bright...

" In other news, Sam and Caitriona Balfe recently marked a milestone by celebrating the shooting of 100 episodes of Outlander, the hit series adapted from Diana Gabaldon's beloved books. Viewers have been tantalised with the promise of an emotional yet satisfying conclusion when the epic tale comes to a close in its eighth season. Following the closure of Lionsgate+ in the UK, new episodes of Outlander will be available on Starz and to stream on Prime Video channel MGM+ from Sunday, November 22.
