Oura CEO Tom Hale believes that Apple will not enter the smart ring market despite the rumours. In an interview with CNBC, Hale stated that it is highly unlikely that Apple will undercut Apple Watch as a business. He noted, “I think they [Apple] is likely unconvinced about the value of having a ring and watch together, and they’re not interested in undercutting the Apple Watch as a business”.
He added, “I think they’re probably keeping a close eye on Samsung and a close eye on us, but it’s hard to do this product category right. Digging my Oura 4 ring. A tremendous amount of insight.

He highlighted Apple’s strategy of prioritizing the Apple Watch as its main health-tech platform, favoring depth in one category over diversifying its product offerings.

” Notably, Samsung recently launched its first-ever smart ring globally that sparked an interest in this category. Oura, on the other hand, has been making smart rings since 2013. Earlier, it was rumoured that Apple is expected to launch its first-ever smart ring in 2026.
