Ottawa firefighters contain house fire in the Glebe

There are no injuries after an evening fire in the Glebe. Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a single-family home in the 200 block of Imperial Avenue around 6:45 p.m.

on Monday, Sept. 16. A 9-1-1 caller had reported heavy smoke coming from the back of the house.



Fire crews arrived and confirmed thick smoke coming from the top floor and a working fire was declared. Firefighters initiated a fast attack and began a search for occupants. After two full searches of the home, it was confirmed there was no one inside at the time of the fire.

The fire, which was contained before it could spread, was declared under control at 7:22 p.m. A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
