OPPO, OnePlus developing 8,000mAh Si/C battery for its next flagships –report

Massive 8,000mAh batteries are reportedly in the works to power the next OPPO and OnePlus flagships, a new leak claims.Courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, Omega Lab (in Chinese)—the R&D arm of OPPO and OnePlus—have tested an 8000mAh battery with 15% silicon content.That concentration is significantly higher than that of recent OnePlus smartphones with 6% silicon content.

This also means that such device(s) tested sports silicon-carbon batteries.As mentioned in our explainer video about silicon-carbon batteries, these types of batteries can contain more energy density than the standard lithium-ion batteries in a given space.Additionally, the tipster also mentioned that such batteries could support 80W of charging.
