OPPO is set to launch its latest Find X8 series later this month. The global launch is set for 21st November 2024 at an event in Bali. The new flagship series will feature OPPO’s latest ColorOS 12.

While some smartphone makers may be looking to wind down of the end of the year, OPPO is planing a global smartphone launch. More specifically the Chinese company is planning to reveal its latest Find X8 series at an event being hosted in Bali, Indonesia on 21st November 2024. The launch of the new flagship phone is significant for two reasons – one as it will introduce the company’s latest ColorOS operating system and user interface and there is the potential that the brand will debut its first X model in South Africa.

Regarding the former, OPPO’s SVP and chief product officer, Pete Lau, noted that with, “ColorOS 15’s smart and smooth experience, Find X8 Series is set to mark an exciting shift for the smartphone industry.” “Until now, flagship camera phones with ultra-zoom, power, battery life and AI tools have been weighed down by thick, heavy designs, but Find X8 Series changes the game. Find X8 is a thin and light powerhouse with ultra-beating battery life and a periscope zoom.

Find X8 Pro takes zoom further, delivering ultra-grade experiences without the bulk,” he added . In terms of the other specifications of the Find X8, OPPO has already pointed at a few elements, such as a 6.59′′ display, a body that weighs 193g, as well as a fingerprint resistant design in Star Grey, Space Black, and Shell Pink colourways.

There is a Pro model too, which will feature 6.78′′ display, dual-periscope telephoto camera, and two colour options – Space Black and Pearl White. Added to this will be MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset on both models, along with a 5 630mAh battery for Find X8 and 5 910mAh battery for Find X8 Pro.

As for local availability and pricing, no details have been shared by OPPO South Africa at the time of writing, but the fact that Hypertext was alerted to next’s week’s launch potentially bodes well, with OPPO doing so for some of the other flagship devices it has brought to our shores in recent years.
